The Product
What is Aurea Maison bath tissue made of?
A blend of bamboo and eucalyptus pulp. Bamboo gives the product its sustainability profile and structural strength; eucalyptus adds the softness that pure bamboo tissue typically lacks. The combination is what allows us to deliver a tactile experience comparable to premium virgin-fiber tissue without the environmental footprint.
Is it free from harmful chemicals?
Yes. The pulp is bleached without elemental chlorine, and the finished product is free from parabens, BPA, PFAS, phthalates, added formaldehyde, or harsh fragrances. Every formulation is independently tested by accredited third-party laboratories against OEKO-TEX Standard 100 limits.
All testing is conducted by accredited third-party laboratories, and full reports are kept on file.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Aurea Maison bath tissue has been clinically tested in a Repeated Insult Patch Test (RIPT) conducted by SGS North America, a global testing authority, under board-certified dermatologist supervision. No skin reactions were observed. The product is well-suited for sensitive skin.
Is it safe for babies and children?
Yes. The same clean formulation and dermatological testing that make it suitable for sensitive adult skin applies. The product is tested against the strictest category limits (Category I — Baby) under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 protocols for substances like formaldehyde and pH.
Is the color safe for skin?
Yes. The pigments are part of the pulp itself, not surface dyes that transfer. They are tested against OEKO-TEX Standard 100 limits for azo dyes, allergenic and carcinogenic dyes, and dispersed dyes, and pass the same dermatological testing as the rest of the product.
Will the color rub off or stain?
No. Because the color is in the fiber, not on top of it, there is nothing to transfer. Independent color-fastness testing confirms the product will not mark skin, fabric, or porcelain in normal use.
How many plies?
Four-ply.
How many sheets per roll?
220 sheets per roll.
Is your bath tissue fluffy soft?
Mass-market premium tissue achieves softness through chemical treatment of virgin wood pulp. Ours achieves softness through fiber blend and a four-layer calendaring process which is closer in feel to high-end European bath tissue than to North American mass-market brands.
Is it strong / does it tear easily?
Bamboo fiber is naturally strong, and four-ply construction reinforces it. It holds up to water without disintegrating prematurely, but breaks down properly in plumbing systems.
Is it septic-safe? Can I flush it?
Yes. The fiber blend breaks down readily in standard sewer and septic systems.
Where is it made?
Aurea Maison bath tissue is made in PRC, by a manufacturing partner we chose after an exhaustive global search.
What we wanted to make did not exist. A four-ply bath tissue, blending bamboo and eucalyptus pulp, with color formulated into the fiber across multiple layers, embossed to our design, and finished to a luxury standard. We looked across North America, Europe, and Asia for a producer capable of executing this combination at the quality level we required. We found it in one place.
Our manufacturing partner has decades of specialization in premium tissue production and the technical capability to run mixed colorways, custom embossing, and a multi-layered fiber composition on a single line. Few facilities in the world can do this. We work closely with them on every aspect of the product, and our founder is on-site for production runs to oversee quality and specifications firsthand.
Sustainability & Sourcing
What materials is Aurea Maison bath tissue made from, and why?
A blend of bamboo and eucalyptus pulp. Bamboo gives the product its strength and structure; eucalyptus provides the softness that pure bamboo tissue lacks. Both regenerate in years rather than decades — bamboo from existing root systems without replanting, eucalyptus among the fastest-growing hardwoods used in paper. The blend is what allows us to deliver the tactile experience of premium tissue without relying on the slow-growing hardwoods that most North American bath tissue is made from.
Is your bath tissue sustainable?
Aurea Maison is built around materials and craft. The bamboo and eucalyptus blend was chosen for what it does to the product - softness, structure, integrity at four-ply - and for the fact that both fibers regenerate in years rather than decades. Our pulp is bleached without elemental chlorine. Our packaging is paper-based, considered, and made to be kept rather than thrown away. Every formulation is tested against OEKO-TEX Standard 100 limits by accredited third-party laboratories.
We make considered choices where we can and continue to refine the ones we are still working on.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes. The outer carton is made from recycled paperboard and is fully recyclable curbside in most municipalities. The PET window is recyclable separately where rigid plastics are collected. It can be removed from the box before disposal, or left in place where mixed-material packaging is accepted.
We chose paper over plastic film for the body of the packaging deliberately. It costs more, requires more careful handling through the supply chain, and adds a layer of operational complexity, but it's consistent with how we want the brand to look, feel, and behave on a shelf, in a home, and after the product is finished.
Why does your packaging have a window?
The window lets you see the color before you open the box. A small design detail that we love. The product is meant to be chosen visually, not described, and the window is part of how the packaging communicates what's inside before a single seal is broken.
The window itself is PET which is clear, durable, and structurally suited to the format. We considered alternatives, including paper-based viewing apertures and biodegradable films, but none delivered the clarity and finish we wanted at this stage. PET is widely recyclable through rigid plastic streams.
What about the carbon footprint of shipping from China?
Long-distance shipping carries an environmental cost, and we considered it carefully. Two things shaped the decision. The manufacturing capability we needed: four-ply construction, color formulated into the fiber, embossing to our specifications, the bamboo and eucalyptus blend, exists at the scale and quality we required in only a handful of facilities globally. And ocean freight, while not without impact, is among the most efficient modes of transport per ton-kilometer. We chose product integrity over a shorter supply chain, and we will continue to evaluate alternatives as the brand grows.

We ship across Canada and to the continental United States.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location.
Canada: We provide complimentary shipping on all orders over $100.
United States: We provide
complimentary shipping on all orders over $120 USD.
How fast will my order arrive?
Most Canadian orders ship within 1–2 business days and arrive within 3–7 business days, depending on your province. You'll receive tracking the moment your order ships.
Do you offer expedited shipping?

Can I track my order?
Yes. You will receive a confirmation email when your order is placed and a tracking link when it ships.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Possibly, if you contact us before the order ships. Email us right away at concierge@aurea-maison.com with your order number and what you would like to change. Once the order is in the hands of the carrier, we can no longer modify it.
Do you offer subscriptions?
Not at launch. A subscription option is something we are considering for a future phase, designed with the same care as the rest of the product. Sign up to Inside Maison to be notified when it becomes available.
Returns
What's your return policy?
Due to the intimate and hygienic nature of our products, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges.
What if my order arrives damaged?
In the unlikely event your order arrives damaged or defective, we will make it right. Contact us at concierge@aurea-maison.com within 14 days of delivery with a brief description and a photo, and we will arrange a replacement or refund. There is no need to ship anything back.
Accounts & Support
Do I need an account to order?
No. Guest checkout is available. Creating an account makes reordering and tracking easier, but it's optional.
My package is missing or has not arrived. What do I do?
Check your tracking link first as most delivery delays resolve within a few days. If 10 business days have passed since you received a shipping confirmation and the package has not arrived, email us at concierge@aurea-maison.com and we will be happy to attend to it.
